I am interested in contacting family from these two lines. I have a Mary Ladouceur from USA who married Alex Robinson and settled in Longford (1886?). I believe other members of her Ladouceur family came up to Canada as well.
In the 1911 census Mary & Alex Robinson had a grandson living with them - John Edward Clarke b. 1900. Who were his parents??

I found a little bit of info-- right here on the Cemetery section of this web site-- from St. Joseph's R.C Cemetery, Black River. The following is transcrbed from the grave marker--

In Memory Of/Mary/Wife Of/Alexander ROBINSON/Died/Jan. 19, 1915/Aged 71 years/ROBINSON

I did a quick search for an Ontario death registration-- but no luck yet.

I did find a death registration for Mary. MS935-211 # 023991- father Peter Ladouceur, her husband Alexander died 18 Dec 1916, in Rama-- likely buried in St. Joseph's-- but not inscribed on the stone.
In the 1891 and 1901 census Mary went by Emily-- and the 1901 census has the last name as ROBISON.
the 1880 USA census has the family in Oswegathie, St. Lawrence, NY.

Sometimes you just need to find a little info that leads to a whole lot more- from the 1891 census- Rama Twp. we learn the names of the children of Alex and Mary/Emily
Joseph 22, born USA
Franklin20, born USA-- he was living in South River, Ontario in 1918.
Josephine, 16, born USA-- she married an Archibald Shaw-- they had 9 children
John 11, born USA-he married Louire Jackson. 15 Sept 1912-- he died 20 Nov 1918
Rosa Ann/ ANNIE,9 - she married John Johnson, 14 Oct 1907-- in the R.C church in Uptergrove.
Edward 7, born USA- he married Nellie McKay, in Manitoulin- 12 Sept 1921

this may help you out a bit- it appears all member of the family relocated from Rama Twp, by 1918. The question of who is John Edward Robinson/CLARK still remains
